What will Google think of next?
Posted by Trenton on Saturday, October 11th, 2008
Okay, so I'm sure everyone who is connected to this world in any way knows that Google is slowly taking over the planet. What once started as a research project for a student at Stanford has now become the most expensive - and possibly the most recognizable - brand in the world. The days of Google being just some search engine are long over as they now provide an unlimited sort of utilities and services such as Google Earth, Picasa, YouTube, and of course... the ever-growing popular Gmail. Gmail is very well known for it's huge amount of space provided to all users; I am currently using 372MB's (or 5%) of my total 7.2GB's available. As if the 7.2GB's of storage (along with all the other features) wasn't enough... Google has just recently released a new add-on (technically a "lab") for Gmail. It is aptly named "Mail Goggles".

DEBUGGING: Using Java's Scanner with Different Delimiter Types
Posted by Fred on Thursday, October 9th, 2008
Yesterday a friend of mine was having some very strange errors with a program he was writing in Java for his data structures and algorithms class. He was writing a text-based address book manager as a demonstration for using trees to act like a database. The code that was causing issues was the part of the code that allowed you to change a contact's details. After carefully verifying the code, we knew that Contact was a valid class and its methods worked properly, and ContactList was also working properly. Here is the troublesome section:

first real entry
Posted by caitie on Thursday, September 18th, 2008
So for my first real entry I have decided to upload a few of my photographs taken during a house fire two weekends ago. At 6am my friend Brian yelled to my roommate, boyfriend, friend Spencer and I whom were still awake, for unspoken reasons, that there was a fire down the street. To our surprise three houses two blocks away had caught on fire. Recent news reports have stated that it had started due to a gang initiation...I'm not even going to get into that one.

Music, Music, Music!

First order of business - personal things. Florida was great, and was very relaxing. It was also the first trip involving air travel in recent memory in which I've avoided any major snags. Things have been quiet at home and I can't believe it's only a week until I go back to school. I've had several topics on my mind to write about lately but I just haven't had the initiative to... blog it out. Hopefully I'll actually sit down and write something coherent about those topics soon. I'm also hoping I can get some of my friends/contributors to submit some supplementary content to keep the blog hopping. I'm hoping to optimize the site more for search engines and fix a few bugs, maybe try to promote some more. For now, though, I have several music-related topics at hand.

Vacation Time

Venice is a small island in southwestern Florida, south of Sarasota. Known for gated communities of condos, the island has its own airport, complete with a variety of flying schools. Venice is primarily populated by more elderly folks, and experiences a dramatic population decrease in the summer.
